‘SupaVenezia’ was presented in 2022 at A Plus A Gallery in Venice in collaboration with the School for Curatorial Studies Venice and Sarah Staton. Developed together with students from the international curatorial programme, the exhibition brought together a group of artists whose works engaged with ideas of circulation, exchange and the cultural economy of Venice.
Installed within a shop-like display environment characteristic of SupaStore, the exhibition included sculptures, editions, publications and small objects arranged across shelves and display structures reminiscent of markets and souvenir shops.
By situating SupaStore within Venice, a city historically shaped by trade and tourism, the project examined the relationship between artistic production and the economies that surround cultural heritage. At the same time it functioned as an educational platform through which students participated directly in the curatorial development of the exhibition.
